British summer 2008 to be warmer and wetter

Breaking Earth News
Britain faces a more tropical-style summer this year, with both temperatures and rainfall predicted to be above average.

After a heatwave and drought two years ago and then record rainfall and widespread flooding last year, this summer is predicted to return to a pattern of sunny spells then rain.

Dr Brian Golding, head of forecasting, said: “We think it’s likely to be a case of a few fine days and then there’s a band of rain, perhaps some thunderstorms and then it warms up again.
