China hit by a dozen earthquakes

At least a dozen earthquakes hit China's remote northwestern region of Xinjiang on Friday. "About 2,200 houses were damaged or flattened ... during the quakes, which also toppled hundreds of livestock sheds and vegetable greenhouses," but no casualties have been reported so far. 44,000 people have been "affected" by the quakes.
