Storm Enters Gulf of Mexico

Breaking Storm News
Gulf on High Alert

An area of low pressure has crossed the Florida Peninsula and entered the eastern Gulf of Mexico. The low is expected to develop into a tropical depression later today and will strike the Gulf Coast late this weekend.

The low could develop into the 10th tropical depression within the next 12-24 hours. It is expected to strengthen into a tropical storm on Friday before affecting the central Gulf Coast late Friday or early Saturday.

While it is still early to determine the exact path of the system, the majority of computer models show the system striking the Gulf Coast near the Mississippi - Louisiana state line.
