Landslide closes Insterstate 29 northbound

A record amount of rain triggered a landslide sending mud and trees roaring down on the northbound lanes of Interstate 29 this afternoon.The landslide ripped out a hillside about 1/4 mile south of the War Eagle Monument around 2 o'clock completely blocking the railroad tracks and the northbound lanes of I-29.
As rain may continue until Wednesday, there may be a danger of more landslides.
