(State College, PA) - New England, especially Maine, will bear the brunt of the major winter storm today. Blustery and cold conditions will continue to create travel problems one day after travel across the region was virtually impossible.
As outlined in the Weather News Summary, this massive late-winter storm sparked an outbreak of severe weather in Florida, spread flooding rain over the central East Coast and buried the Northeast with snow and a dangerous mix of wintry precipitation. The storm intensified into a raging Nor'easter Friday as it tracked from the Southeast to off the mid-Atlantic coast.
