Rescuers Search For Dozens Missing In Indonesian Landslides

Rescue workers battled blocked roads Sunday to resume their search for nearly 50 people buried alive in landslides that swept through several villages on an eastern Indonesian island, officials said. The landslides, triggered by several days of torrential rains, struck several villages in four districts of Manggarai regency on the island of Flores, about 1,500 kilometres east of Jakarta, on early Saturday, said chief regent Christian Rotok.
