Breaking Tropical Storm News: Western Australia
March 09, 2007

CANBERRA - At least two people have been confirmed dead as Cyclone George lashed Western Australia with rare fury. Emergency aid teams said up to 20 people were injured on Friday as the powerful storm belted coastal communities in the state.
Cyclone George struck at 3am (WDT) with wind speeds racing up to 275km/h. Rescue teams used a helicopter to transport the injured to a hospital.
Another cyclone, Jacob, was also thought to be gathering speed, but weather bureaus said it was still some distance away from the coast.
