Caribbean: Heavy rains continue to cause flooding

A total of 615 people have had to leave their homes and 163 houses were flooded as a result of the heavy rains over the last 48 hours. Most of the flooding had occurred in Puerto Plata, La Vega and Espaillat province, as a result of rivers bursting their banks. The rains were expected to continue across a large part of the country, and a green alert still applies for people living in vulnerable areas.

YEMEN - At least 12 people were killed and dozens of homes were destroyed in heavy rain storms in Yemen on Saturday. Two people were injured in a thunderstorm and many farms were destroyed due to the stormy weather, which hit Yemen - one of the poorest countries in the Arab world - over the past two days.
