A powerful earthquake struck the eastern Indonesian islands of Maluku on Tuesday, prompting the government to issue a tsunami warning that was later cancelled.The offshore tremblor, measuring 6.6 on the Richter scale, rocked North Maluku province at 3:04 p.m. (0804 GMT), prompting a mandatory tsunami warning because of its size and shallow depth.
