Hail storm slams Canberra

Breaking Storm News: Australia
Feb 27, 2007
PARTS of Canberra were lashed with huge hailstones tonight as a severe storm passed through the national capital.
A spokesman for the Bureau of Meteorology said there was a reasonably severe storm system passing over the ACT late tonight with large falls of hail over Canberra's inner north.
However, the bureau said, the storm had only delivered minimal rainfall at Canberra airport up to 10.30pm (AEDT).
ACT emergency services said they had received no reports of damage.
