The New "Comeback Kid" Celebrates Major Victories
Momentum Shifts to Clinton Camp
Clinton Wins Ohio
Sen. Hillary Clinton dedicated her victory speech here tonight to “anyone in Ohio and across the nation who has ever been counted out but refused to be knocked out.
“The nation is coming back and so is this campaign,” Clinton said as multicolored confetti spilled from the balconies. Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland and former astronaut and Sen. John Glenn stood with her on stage.
Clinton's three triumphs ended a month of defeats for the former first lady, and she told jubilant supporters, "We're going on, we're going strong and we're going all the way."
R.I. Goes for Clinton
PROVIDENCE — Hillary Clinton’s 11-state losing streak ended in Rhode Island as the smallest state became a big battleground in the Democratic presidential contest.
In the last two weeks, the Ocean State took on greater significance as Clinton sought to halt the momentum of Barack Obama toward the nomination. Both campaigns poured resources into the state, and hundreds of volunteers, many from Massachusetts, went door-to-door in heavy rain as part of an all-out organizational struggle to get supporters to the polls.
