Record heat for September

New York City

Central New York set a new record for high temperatures Friday. The mercury reached 95 degrees. The previous record for September 7th was 91 degrees. Friday's temperature also tied the highest for this year, set back in August.

We have now hit 90 degrees or more 14 days this year. Last year it only happened six times. The average for Central New York is eight.
